Ordering your new garden building with MCD is simple, whether you want to order online, request a custom quote, visit our Barnsley showroom, or speak to our team first.
From choosing your building to delivery and installation, we keep the process clear from start to finish.
Step 1: Choose the Right Garden Building

All of our buildings are customisable, so you can choose the size, layout, style and extras that work best for your garden and your taste.
Step 2: Get Advice
If you are further away or unable to visit the showroom, we can still help you choose the right building. Our team can give advice over the phone, by email or through online enquiries, and can talk you through the different options based on your garden, intended use, budget and postcode. You can also send us photos of your garden, base area or access route if you would like us to check anything before placing an order. This can be especially helpful if you are unsure about the best size, whether an EZ Base may be suitable, or if there are any access concerns.
Visit the Showroom
If you would like to see the quality before ordering, you can visit our indoor showroom in Barnsley. We have over 15 buildings on display, including sheds, summerhouses and fully insulated garden rooms, so you can walk inside the buildings, compare styles and get a proper feel for the materials and finish. The showroom page also explains that customers can speak to the team about styles, sizes, options, finishes, insulation and internal cladding. You are welcome to drop in, but you can also book an appointment if you would prefer dedicated time with a team member.

Step 3: Get a Quote
Once you have an idea of what you want, you can request a quote through our quick quote form, call us, message us, or speak to us in the showroom.
Your quote will usually depend on:
The building style
The size
Door and window choices
Opional upgrades
Internal options such as insulation or cladding
Whether you need an EZ Base
Your postcode for delivery and installation
Any access or site requirements

Step 4: Check Delivery and Installation Costs
We offer free delivery and installation within 60 miles of our Barnsley showroom. For customers further away, we offer UK-wide delivery and installation where available, with the cost based on your location. You can use our Delivery Calculator by entering your postcode to check the delivery and fitting cost for your area. The delivery page explains that MCD buildings are delivered and installed by our own in-house team, not subcontractors. This means you are dealing directly with MCD from order to installation.
Step 5: Confirm Your Specification
Before placing your order, make sure your building details are correct.
This includes:
Building model
Width and depth
Door position
Window position
Roof style
Base requirements
Extras and upgrades
Delivery postcode
Any access notes
This is the best time to ask questions or make changes. Once your order is confirmed, your building will be processed based on the details agreed.
Step 6: Pay Your Deposit or Pay in Full
To place an order, you can either pay in full or pay a 25% deposit and pay the rest two working days before installation. You can pay by credit card, debit card, bank transfer, or other secure payment methods offered by MCD.
0% Finance
If you would like to spread the cost, we offer 0% finance over 12 months, subject to status. This works with a 25% deposit upfront, with the remaining 75% spread over 12 equal monthly payments. Finance is provided through Ideal4Finance, and acceptance is subject to status and eligibility checks. If you want to use finance, please let us know when placing your order so we can make sure everything is set up correctly.
MCD Home & Garden (UK) Ltd is an Introducer Appointed Representative of Ideal Sales Solutions Ltd T/A Ideal4Finance. Ideal Sales Solutions is a credit broker and not a lender (FRN 703401). Finance available subject to status. The rate offered is always provisional and will depend upon your personal circumstances, loan amount, and term.
Step 7: Receive Your Written Order Confirmation
Once your order has been placed, we will send your order confirmation in writing. This includes the details of your building, approximate lead time, chosen extras, full order amount, deposit paid and final balance. Your invoice, terms and conditions and care guide will also be included. Please read everything carefully and let us know straight away if anything does not look right. This helps make sure your building is ordered exactly as agreed.
Step 8: Prepare Your Base
Before installation, your base must be ready. Your base needs to be: Level Solid The correct size for your building. A poor base can cause issues with doors, panels, water ingress and long-term stability. As your base is the foundation of the building, it is important this is prepared properly before the fitting team arrives. If you do not already have a suitable base, ask us about our EZ Base option when ordering.
Step 9: Arrange Your Delivery and Installation
Once your order is progressing, our scheduling team will arrange your delivery and installation date. Dates are planned around manufacturing, delivery routes, fitting team availability and your own circumstances. We will always do our best to offer the earliest suitable date available. If you have a particular timescale in mind, such as a holiday, house move, landscaping work or special occasion, please tell us as early as possible.
Step 10: Pay Your Final Balance
Your final balance must be paid two working days before installation. This allows us to confirm your delivery, release the order and make sure everything is ready for the fitting team. If the balance is not paid on time, your delivery and installation may not be able to go ahead.
Aftercare & Maintenance
After installation, you will receive guidance on how to care for your new garden building. Although MCD buildings are pressure treated, timber still needs looking after. MCD advises customers to protect their building with a suitable waterproof preservative or stain within 8 weeks of installation, once the timber is dry. Following the care guide helps protect your building and keep it looking its best for years to come.
