What’s your role at MCD Garden Buildings, and what do you enjoy most about it? My role is a bit of everything – from sorting out designs to helping customers, managing the team and ensuring the whole place runs smoothly. I enjoy seeing something go from a simple idea to a finished building in someone’s garden – that never gets old.
- Would we find you gardening at weekends? Probably not! You’re more likely to find me at the gym than digging in the borders – but I do love a tidy garden and a good outdoor space to relax in.
- Tea or coffee – and how do you take it? Coffee, every time. Strong, splash of milk. Or an energy drink if it’s one of those days!
What’s something customers might not know about what we do? We manufacture everything ourselves – every single building is made to order in our own workshop. That means we’ve got full control over the quality and can tweak the design to suit what the customer wants, not just what’s off the shelf.
If you had a garden building of your own, what would it be? It’d be the Scarlett. I’ve always loved the traditional style and that little veranda – it’s got a real charm to it. Perfect for a quiet morning coffee or winding down in the evening.

What’s your role at MCD Garden Buildings, and what do you enjoy most about it? I am one of the directors, but I do many jobs within the business; sales, customer service, accounts, and even help out in the workshop when needed.
Would we find you gardening at weekends? No. I work most Saturdays, so Sunday is spent relaxing with the family.
Tea or coffee – and how do you take it? Coffee – I love a caramel latte or an iced coffee.
What’s something customers might not know about what we do? Every one of our buildings is built to order so if the standard layout doesn’t quite fit your needs, we can adjust window and door placements, change sizes, add internal partitions, or include extras like insulation, cladding, electrics and more—whatever you need to make the space just right for you.
If you had a garden building of your own, what would it be? One of the combos, either the Emer or the Ruby. The perfect blend of practical and peaceful. I’d have a proper shed space for all the garden gear, bikes and tools… and then a separate summerhouse area to relax with a brew, get stuck into a good book, or even use as a little work-from-home spot when the sun’s out. Best of both worlds!

What’s your role at MCD Garden Buildings, and what do you enjoy most about it? I am involved with all things digital at MCD. I look after the website, social media, and create photography and videography content. I enjoy being creative and seeing the custom buildings customers make.
Would we find you gardening at weekends? I don’t mind mucking in with the gardening at the weekend, I always wanted to design gardens when I was younger.
Tea or coffee – and how do you take it? Tea with milk and two sugars please.
What’s something customers might not know about what we do? I always think that it’s cool that customers can upgrade certain aspects or change the location of doors and windows on most of our buildings.
If you had a garden building of your own, what would it be? I have always dreamed of owning a garden room at the back of my garden that I can turn into a man cave.
